The challenge was to be able to remove as much wire as possible from the waste paper bales: The Metrans automatic dewiring unit is capable to retrieve more than 94% of the wire, which is an impressive result in regards to other systems available. This unique yet simple mechanism traps and coils the wires when the bale is cut in half.
